NotesJack was born to an unmarried mother from Sutton Coldfield. He was sent to Middlemore homes and at the age of 14 sent to Canada, His first province of arrival was New Brunswick but moved on to live on a farm in Sasketchewen. He must have had a good relationship with the Family he was with because in 1934 they helped him return to the UK so he could join the RAF and fight for his home Country.
